Welcome to the Pet Advice Blog

I would like to welcome pet parents to my Pet advice and help center.

I am a pet parent myself... the proud "momma" of a 1 year and 4 month old Zuchon named Dojo Kansuke, a 2 year old Hamster named Doki Doki, and 2 conures... 10 year old girl- Big Boid, and 6 year old boy- Bindie Sue (Sexed after named). I am also the proud owner of a 5 year old Clown Fish named Naruto.

I worked as a Veterinary Technician for an Emergency Veterinary Hospital, A Pet Care specialist and Educator, and I ran an advice column to help new pet owners find the right pet, or learn how to care for their new pets. I am currently in the process of finishing my first book in a series of pet care and inspiration books.

I've also participated in Wild life rescues including of rabbits, birds, larger fowl like Geese, and most recently I have been helping Law Enforcement keep tabs on wolves that have wandered in the area, in hopes of trapping them and relocating them to a sanctuary or releasing them to a more appropriate habitat than the backyards of a busy neighborhood.

I have owned and adopted many pets. Besides the ones named above, I also owned,

A beautiful Rabbit named Gabby (1998-2006)
A gorgeous Iguana named Princess Anastasia (1995-2007)

I have experience in Dogs, Cats, Reptiles, Small animals, and aquatic pets.

I do not give out medical advice. If you are worried there is a serious health problem with your pet, you can ask me... but I will 9 out of 10 tell you to consult a veterinarian and give you many reasons as to why.

I am not a Doctor of Veterinary medicine, and even if I were, I can not examine your pet by osmosis. Medical Diagnosis can not be properly made on the internet.

However I can answer questions like -

What do Snakes eat?
I have brown gunk that keeps coming back in my fish tank... what is it?
What is an African Grey's lifespan?

As well as questions on potty training, general training questions, and minor behavioral issues.

I do not classify myself as an expert. I classify my someone who has experience both professionally and personally.

If there is ever a question I can not answer, I have access to experts who can help me answer these questions - or I will simply refer you to someone who may be able to.
